MCGANNON CENTER PARTICIPATES IN MEDIA ECOLOGY ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE

6.23.05. The McGannon Center contributed a panel to the annual conference of the Media Ecology Association, held at Fordham University's Lincoln Center campus.  The McGannon panel featured a number of past and present participants in the Center's activities. Founding Director Jack Phalen (Professor of Communication and Media Studies at Fordham) discussed the Center's origins and evolution.  Current Research Fellow Margot Hardenbergh (Visiting Assistant Professor, Department of Communication and Media Studies) discussed the Center's ongoing Television Oral History Project.  Advisory Board Member John Carey (Professor of Communications and Media Management, School of Business) discussed the Center's recent Media and Democracy Scholars convening.  Former Research Assistants Sheea Sybblis and Nancy Gillis presented recently completed research projects.  The panel was organized and moderated by McGannon Center Senior Research Associate, Jim Capo (Associate Professor, Department of Communication and Media Studies).
