Affidavit of Support

The Affidavit of Support is required to issue the SEVIS I-20 or DS-2019 for all incoming international students.  It can be submitted with your application or later on after the admission decision has been finalized.  Check with your department.  You can download this form along with the instructions if you click the link below.  This form can be used for almost all schools at Fordham.

This form currently has financial information for the 2013 - 2014 academic year.

What should you do once you have completed your AFCOE?
If you are an undergraduate, GBA, or IALC student, you should send your AFCOE and supporting documentation to your Admissions office.  They will forward your documents to us.

Students in: Law, Arts & Sciences, Social Service, Education, Religion & Religious Education, or Professional and Continuing Studies:
1. obtain your passport copy and your financial supporting documentation
2. email your AFCOE, passport, and financial supporting documentation to us at
Please try to email ALL your documents in ONE SINGLE pdf file.  Also, please DO NOT send us any jpeg files.  ALL DOCUMENTS MUST BE IN PDF FORM!
3. the subject line of your email should be: Family name, Given name, Fordham ID number, AFCOE

Using this format will ensure the quickest possible processing time for your I-20.

Important Notes for completing your AFCOE:
- you must tell us what school or program you have been accepted to
- you must tell us your Fordham ID Number
- if you are transferring from another US institution, make sure to fill out the Transfer section of the AFCOE

Please send your AFCOE and supporting documents to us by EMAIL!!  Although we will still accept documents sent via fax or air mail, we will soon stop accepting these methods.  Additionally, sending your documents through email will allow us to process your I-20 more quickly than AFCOES received from fax or air mail.

If you are transferring your F-1 status from another US school to Fordham, please click here for information on the Transfer procedure.

Please DO NOT email us to find out when your I-20 will be mailed.  We understand that all students have urgent requests because of their upcoming visa interview, and we do our best to mail out I-20s in a timely fashion.  It generally takes 1-2 weeks for your I-20 to be mailed, once we have received all the proper documentation, and the student has responded with their desired mailing option.  The less time we spend responding to requests about when it will be ready, the more time can be spent on getting it done!  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
