Fordham Study abroad Scholarships Alfred A. Puglisi, CBA'43, Travel Award to Italy The Italian Program in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures invites applicants for a $1,500 award for study in Italy. A student must have a GPA of 3.33 or above and be enrolled in an Italian course at the time of application. The FCRH Study and Service Abroad Scholarshipprovides up to $10,000 in assistance to a student in Fordham College at Rose Hill who enrolls in a study abroad program that contains a service-learning curricular component or will provide an opportunity for sustained volunteer work. Fordham University Gabelli School of Business 2013 Wilcha Travel Grant - Three new $2,500 scholarships have been established to help Gabelli School of Business students handle the cost of studying abroad. Interested students must apply by November 15, 2012, for funds to be used in the spring 2013 semester.
Association of American Study Abroad Programs The scholarship is open to undergraduate students who have been offered a study abroad place in a UK study abroad program with membership in AASAP. This merit-based award is £1,000.
Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowships This fellowship provides funding to participants to prepare academically and professionally to enter the US. Department of State Foreign Service. Women and members of minority groups historically underrepresented in the foreign service are encouraged to apply.
David L. Boren Scholarship for Study Abroad NSEP The National Security Education Program (NSEP) supports study abroad focusing on geographical areas, languages, and fields of study deemed critical to US national security. This scholarship excludes study in US, Canada, Western Europe, Oceania and entails a service obligation.
Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi
Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grants are designed to recognize and assist undergraduates as they seek knowledge and experience in their academic fields by studying abroad. 38 grants valued at $1,000 each are awarded annually. Applicants need not be members of Fordham University’s Phi Kappa Phi chapter to apply for a grant.
Norman Woodberry Scholarship
The World Affairs Forum, based in Stamford, CT, has established a scholarship program for students studying abroad. The scholarship is available to residents of Fairfield County, CT or Westchester County, NY.
Freeman Foundation for Study in Asia and South East Asia The Freeman Foundation, with the cooperation of the Institute for International Education (IIE) offers need-based scholarships to students who are studying abroad in Asia or Southeast Asia. Priority is given to students with no prior experience traveling to or studying in Asia.
Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship The Institute for International Education (IIE) offers scholarships of $5,000 to US citizen students who are currently receiving Pell Grant funding. Additional funding is available to students who study a "Critical Need Language" (Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Russian, Turkic langauges, Persian languages, and Indic languages).
Fund for International Service Learning
The Fund for International Service Learning (FISL) offers a scholarship in the amount of $500 for a student participating in a service-learning-based study abroad program such as CIEE’s Cape Town Service Learning program and certain SIT-administered programs.
US-Japan Bridging Foundation
The US-Japan Bridging Foundation awards scholarships to US undergraduates to study in Japan. Students must be accepted into a program in Japan. Awards are usually between $2,500 and $4,000 to provide for travel and daily cost-of-living expenses.
LSE General Course Scholarships
The London School of Economics offers £7,000 John C. Phelan scholarships and $1,000 BUTEX scholarships to North American students studying on the General Course.
King’s Excellence Awards
King’s College in London offers scholarships to students intending to enroll atKing’s College for one semester of an academic year in the amount of £2,500 for one semester or £3,500 for an academic year.
BUTEX Scholarship
This scholarship is open to undergraduate students who have been offered a study abroad or exchange place at a UK university affiliated with BUTEX. Students must be studying in the UK for a minimum ofone semester. The value of each scholarship is £500.
Morgan Stanley Scholarships for Study in Japan
Junior and senior undergraduates interested in economics and international finance who have been accepted to study abroad in Japan are eligible for awards up to $7,500.
Order Sons of Italy in America OSIA offers scholarships to men and women of Italian descent to study Italian language and study abroad in Italy.
Friendly Sons of St. Patrick The Society of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick in Philadelphia offer a $2,000 scholarship to a student from the Delaware Valley who is studying abroad in Ireland. Other regional branches of the organization offer similar scholarships. Please contact your local branch and inquire about funding opportunities.
Global Studies Foundation Grant for Study Abroad Designed to support foreign language training, this grant provides funding to study abroad students. GSF seeks to support a formative experience abroad for the recipient, who also must share this experience with others upon his or her return- ideally, with multiple audiences and varied media.
Ambassadorial Scholarships- Rotary International This awardis intended to help defray costs associated with round-trip transportation, tuition, fees, room and board, and some educational supplies as a flat grant amount of $24,000 or its equivalent. Applicants are considered for students studying foreign language. Interested applicants must contact their local Rotary Club for more information.
GTOS Study Abroad Scholarships The Guide to Online Schools (GTOS) offers a $2,000 scholarship to students studying abroad based on a 4-question essay that highlights your creativity and analytical thinking.
Fund for Education Abroad Scholarships The Fund for Education Abroad is committed to increasing opportunities for students to study abroad by decreasing financial restrictions through the provision of grants and scholarships.

The Grand Prize will be $4,000 with great runner-up prizes To enter the competition, you need to create a short movie (no longer than 5 minutes in length) telling why you want to study or travel abroad. If you are already studying abroad, the movie can be about any trip you would like to take. Review all of the rules and regulations to make sure you are eligible.
