| OIS Check-In |
It is absolutely necessary for ALL new international students, scholars, and professors to check-in with the Office for International Services upon arrival to the United States. If you are a transfer student and already in the United States, you still must come into this office as soon as you arrive in New York City.
All new internationals must bring their immigration documents in person to the OIS within 10 days after arriving in the U.S. Additionally, it is necessary for you to inform the OIS of any changes to this information, such as contact information, immigration documents, or address changes.
Here are the steps to check-in. All steps are required in order to complete the check-in process.
1. Verify your address at my.fordham.edu
--> Login
-->Select the Student tab on the top left
-->Select the Student Accounts tab under My Account
-->Select the Personal Information tab on the top left
-->Select Update Addresses and Phones
Permanent Address: Current address in HOME country
Non-University Local Address: Current US local address
Billing: Address to where you want any bills mailed to
Mailing: Address to where you want all correspondence from the University mailed to
2. Complete Check-In form at the OIS Office
Form will be given to you upon arrival at the office. Please also have on hand your current local address, your foreign address, and the information for a local emergency contact person.
3. Submit Necessary Immigration Documents
Please bring originals of the following documents and submit them in person at the OIS check-in.
-->Passport and Visa Page
-->I-94 card (little white card usually stapled to your passport, given to you when you enter the US.
-->Original I-20/DS-2019
-->All other relevant immigration documents
