Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst Annual Grant Program (DAAD)

The DAAD was created as a private but publicly funded non-profit program in Germany. Its mission is to raise awareness of German studies in universities in both the United States and Canada. The grant pays for promising American and Canadian students to study in one of Germany's universities.

Duration of Fellowship: ten months

Amount of Fellowship: The grant provides a stipend of €869.20-1,022.66 in order to defray travel costs to and from Germany. In addition, the DAAD gives an allowance of €150 to cover excess baggage charges and train travel. Health and accident insurance is mostly covered by the DAAD, but grantees must pay €11 per month.
