New York City Urban Fellows Program
Sponsored by the City of New York, Urban Fellows is a highly selective program that aims to introduce emerging leaders to local government and public service in New York. The program offers a nine-month fellowship which combines work in Mayoral offices and City agencies with an intensive seminar series exploring the current urban issues that impact public policy.
Urban Fellows are placed for nine months in agencies across New York City to learn about public policy through a hands-on approach. Fellows also participate in workshops designed to give them an understanding of the structure of NYC government and the interactions between various levels of government. The program also includes group trips to Albany and Washington, D.C., where Fellows meet with policy makers and NY government representatives.
The program provides a nine-month stipend of $30,000 and health insurance coverage.
