First Annual Study Abroad Reception

Maggie, Dr. M
éndez-Clark, Emily, Eric and Danielle

On Wednesday, March 7, 2007, ISAP staff and Fordham administrators gathered with study abroad alumni and fall 2007 participants to celebrate study abroad.  Alumni met up with fellow participants and friends, and those who have yet to go had a chance to talk with students who had done the programs they will be attending in the fall.

Dr. Méndez-Clark, the ISAP Director, opened with a welcome against a backdrop of pictures from around the world sent by ISAP alumni.  Reflections were given by four alumni: Eric Hupe, Duke ICCS Rome fall 2006; Emily Weiss and Maggie Hargrave, Casa de la Solidaridad fall 2006 and fall 2005, respectively; and Danielle Plummer, CIEE Ghana fall 2006.

After that, food and drink was available, students, staff and administrators mingled and a good time was had by all.

Following the success of this event, ISAP is planning to host such a gathering every semester, inviting alumni and pre-departure students.  Look out for your invitation for the Study Abroad Reception next fall (date and location TBA).

We welcome any suggestions from students who have ideas for the program.  Please email your thoughts to: ISAP@fordham.edu.
