Ronald S. Méndez-Clark: A native of Puerto Rico, Dr. Méndez-Clark organized Fordham’s Office of International and Study Abroad Programs (ISAP) in 2000 and is in his seventh year as ISAP’s Director. He earned his Bachelor’s degree at the Universidad de Puerto Rico, and a Masters and Doctorate in Romance Languages and Literature from Princeton University. Dr. Méndez-Clark first came to Fordham University as a Spanish Instructor in 1978. Prior to his appointment as Director of ISAP, he served as Associate Chair of the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures and as Director of the Latin American and Latino Studies Institute. He is the author of Onetti y la (in)fidelidad a las reglas del juego and his article publications cover his areas of research on Latin American fiction, translation, Caribbean/Latino Studies, and, more recently, international education.
Sabina Antal: Originally from Serbia, and of Hungarian descent, Ms. Antal studied Journalism and International Relations at American University in Bulgaria (AUBG). There, she encountered a diverse student body, and first met American study abroad students. Her studies at AUBG made Ms. Antal interested in international education. In 2001, Ms. Antal earned an M.A. in Public Communication from Fordham’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Before joining ISAP, she served as Program Assistant for the Associate Dean of Research and Special Projects in the Graduate School of Social Service. Since joining ISAP in 2005, Ms. Antal has served as Coordinator for Fordham’s London Dramatic Academy and Region Advisor for programs in the United Kingdom and Eastern/Central Europe.
Joseph Rienti studied abroad at the Université de Paris, Sorbonne for one year while pursuing his BA in International Political Economy and French from Fordham College at Rose Hill. Upon graduating from Fordham in 2002, Mr. Rienti taught high school English at Lycée Charles le Chauve in Roissy-en-Brie, France as part of an Ambassade de France and Fulbright Commission partnership. He has also worked as a Financial Aid counselor at Fordham. Mr. Rienti holds an MA in Humanities and Sciences from Fordham's Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and is currently completing a PhD in French at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. He has traveled throughout France and the Francophone world. Since joining ISAP in 2006, Mr. Rienti has served as Coordinator for International Programs and Region Advisor for programs in France, Western Europe and North Africa.
Margaret K. Walter is a recent graduate of Fordham College at Lincoln Center. Ms. Walter first studied abroad in high school, on a summer program at Cambridge University. She has since participated in a Global Outreach trip to Nicaragua in 2003, worked for a summer at a pub in central London, and studied abroad again, this time spending her junior year in Madrid, Spain with the Syracuse University program. An avid traveler, Ms. Walter has also traveled throughout Egypt and France, and most recently explored the Dalmatian Coast of Croatia as well as Budapest and Prague. She is planning on pursuing graduate studies and a career in international education. Since joining ISAP in January 2007, Ms. Walter has served as Study Abroad Coordinator and Region Advisor for Europe (Spain/England), Africa and the Middle East.
Paloma Gutiérrez graduated from Trinity College in Hartford with a double major in International Studies concentrating on Latin America and Hispanic Studies. She spent one semester in Santiago, Chile, completing a Human Rights focus with an internship, then studied for one semester in Cordoba, Spain, focusing on the history and language of Spain. Ms. Gutierrez has also spent time in Nicaragua (Managua and Puerto Cabezas) on service trips, as well as Mexico, Germany and Holland. She is currently enrolled in the International Political Economu and Development program at Fordham and plans to specialize in Finance and Banking.
Joshua Post was born in Florida, however, he has spent most of his life overseas living in Mexico, Belize, Costa Rica, England and Kenya. In 1999, he returned to the US to receive his BS in Biology and Chemistry from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In his junior year, he spent a semester studying French in Grenoble, France, during which time he also explored Switzerland, Spain, Italy and Portugal. After graduation, Mr. Post joined the Peace Corps as a Secondary Education teacher in Burkina Faso, West Africa. Upon completion of his service, he motorcycled through West Africa, visiting Togo, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, and Mali before returning to the US to begin graduate school. He is currently pursuing his MA in International Political Economy and Development at Fordham University.
