Biodiversity of freshwater algae in streams and rivers; nutrients stoichiometry in lotic food webs; role of phytoplankton and benthic algae in nutrient cycling; effects of land use and urbanization on carbon dynamics; freshwater Phaeophyceae, biological monitors of water quality.
