Joseph Dembo is a former Vice President of CBS News: a former Acting President of National Public Radio: a former CBS News Bureau Chief in Rome, Italy; and a former Vice President and General Manager of WCBS Radio, New York.

He is a graduate of Rutgers University where he majored in journalism. Dembo has been presented with two George Foster Peabody Awards and two Ohio State Awards for CBS News documentaries. He was a member of the NPR Board of Directors and a consultant to the producer of the documentary feature film, "The Restless Conscience," which was nominated for an Academy Award.

A lecturer for The New York Council for the Humanities since 1990, Dembo has taught journalism courses at Yale University, the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, and New York University. He has been on the Fordham University faculty since 1988.
