Internship Protocols

You must take the Internship Seminar Course:

CMGA 6555 Internship Seminar (3) A requirement for those pursuing the Internship Option.  The Internship Seminar should be taken concurrently with the Internship.   Students read texts and lead discussions pertinent to their Internships.

You must fill out the following two forms:

1) Internship Record Form
Students must describe their duties in an internship and get signature approval from either the Director of the Graduate Program or the Departmental Chairperson, and return the form at the start of their internship to the Communication Department, (Faculty Memorial Hall, Room 453).

2) Internship Evaluation Form
Your Supervisor at your internship fills out this form. He/She assesses your performance. It should be returned to the Communication Department (Faculty Memorial Hall, Room 453) at the completion of your internship.

This information will be kept on file in the Communication Department. The first Internship record form will also be put on file in the Dean’s Office.

You must complete 240 hours at the internship site:

Students may opt to do an internship full-time for six weeks. Or, students could fulfill the internship requirement working 20 hours a week for 12 weeks. Students can spread out the hour requirement to meet their needs for the semester.
