Joseph Mercurio

Joseph Mercurio has worked as a political consultant for more than 27 years and has provided electronic media services in every part of the United States, on nearly 500 campaigns, propositions and other ballot initiatives.

Joseph Mercurio received a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Francis College, Brooklyn where he became active in politics after becoming an intern for the Manhattan Borough President. Later after experiences organizing local elections in Manhattan's West Side and field operations for the McGovern campaign in New York City, he established a professional political consultant firm.

Among his clients have been the Democratic National Committee, state and local party committees; Presidential candidates including the Garry Hart for President 1984; Senate races including Senators Daniel Patrick Moynihan, Warren Rudman, John Danforth and Lloyd Benson; Governors including Martha Lane Collins, Attorneys General including Bob Abrams, and other congressional, state and local campaigns.

Mr. Mercurio has lectured on media and polling at national and regional political party candidate-training academies for federal and local candidates; as well as before university journalism, political science, and campaign management, classes.

He has been quoted as a regular political commentator in many local and national news outlets. Mr. Mercurio is a regular commentator on Channel 5 Fox's New York, and New York 1 News. His weekly politics column appears in the Resident Publications newspapers, www.nyvote.com and on other web news sites.
