Thomas j. Basile, esq.
Thomas Basile
From Wall Street to Baghdad to Washington and beyond, Thomas J. Basile has been in the middle of the action on the biggest stories and hottest issues of the last decade. Through his work with three US Presidents, two Popes, political campaigns and in challenging environments from Iraq to South Asia, Tom's journey has given him a front row seat to history.

An Opinion Contributor to Forbes, The Blaze and Breitbart's Big Government, his insights into both foreign policy and the national political scene have made him a sought-after lecturer, and contributor on television and radio. He has appeared on numerous radio and television programs including Fox News, CNN, and syndicated radio programs across the nation.  In 2011, he was one of only two American conservatives featured in Time Magazine's Person of the Year edition about political activism around the world.

He is the President of Empire Solutions, a New York-based strategic communications and growth strategies firm.

From 2009-2011 he served as Executive Director of the New York State Republican Party.  During his time as Executive Director, the GOP erased several cycles of losses at the local and county levels of government, recaptured its majority in the State Senate and won more Congressional seats for the new Republican majority in the House than any other state in the nation.

In 2008, Basile represented the office of the US Chief of Protocol to the Vatican Delegation during the visit of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI to New York.  In 2005, he served as a lead planner for the Department of State of the historic visit of former Presidents Bush and Clinton to the tsunami-ravaged areas of South Asia.

From 2004-2005, he was Press Secretary to Senator Trent Lott and the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies where he supervised the media and public affairs operation for the 2005 Presidential Inauguration. He is one of a very small group of Americans who has helped manage Presidential Inaugurations representing both the President and the Congress.

In March, 2004, Basile returned from seven months in Baghdad, Iraq where he served at the request of the White House as a Senior Press Advisor to the Coalition Provisional Authority.  While in Iraq, he was a spokesperson and strategist for the Coalition's press operations.  He was awarded the Joint Civilian Service Commendation Medal from the Department of Defense for his work with the Coalition.

Basile also served as Director of Communications for the US Environmental Protection Agency in Washington where he managed the EPA Administrator's public liaison operation and developed stakeholder outreach initiatives for a variety of environmental issues.

During the Bush presidency, he was often called upon by the White House to plan significant meetings and events for President Bush including the memorial service for the Space Shuttle Columbia Astronauts in Houston, the President's 2002 meeting with Pope John Paul II at the Vatican, activities surrounding the 57th United Nation's General Assembly and Bush's visit to the Nazi concentration camps outside Krakow, Poland.

An elected official in New York's Hudson Valley, Basile has been involved in national, state and local political campaigns for nearly two decades.  He served as a consultant to the Republican National Committee during the 2004 Presidential Election and is an alumnus of the Bush-Cheney 2000 campaign. He has also held senior-level strategic positions in state-wide and local contests.

In 1997 he was named to the National Italian-American Foundation's 100 Stars List of prominent young Italian-Americans.  In 2008 he was invested with the Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem by the Catholic Church and in 2010 he was named to The Capitol Newspaper's 40 Under 40 list of political influencers.

Basile sits on the Advisory Boards of the Hofstra University School of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the SS United States Conservancy.  He earned his bachelor's degree in political science from Hofstra University which named him its 2007 Young Alumnus of the year. He received his Juris Doctor attending Fordham and Georgetown University Schools of Law and is a member of the New York Bar.

He resides in New York with his wife Carrie, their two children and their golden retriever Brooke.
