Melanie Holm is currently working on a book titled Enlightenment Quixotes: Skepticism and Laughter in Eighteenth-Century Literature, which explores the use of humor, satire, and ridicule in eighteenth-century literary inquiries into the limits of human understanding, and their influence on the shape of eighteenth-century narrative fiction. While Dr. Holm’s research focuses on writing of the long eighteenth century in Britain, she maintains a scholarly interest in the European Enlightenment and Romanticism, as well.
