Hey Everyone,
   I am writing to solicit your support in organizing and running this year's RELAY FOR LIFE. As most of you already know from participating in last year's Relay, the event is huge and represents the culmination of months of fundraising and planning. The Laennec Society, Fordham's Pre-Health professions club, will once again be sponsoring this year's event. The event is subsidized by Student Activities and all the proceeds go to the American Cancer Society, a nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy, and service. Attached to this email you will find a letter and information about joining this year's Relay committee. I am looking forward to working with all of you and far outdoing the $20,000 we raised in 2006. Looking forward to recieving your responses.

The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life ® rallies communities to celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones that have passed, and raise funds to eliminate cancer. The Laennec Society, Fordham University's Pre-health Professions Club, hosted its first-ever Relay for Life on campus. We have joined in the fight against cancer and together with the help of the Fordham community, have raised over $20,000 dollars to help reduce the burden of cancer in our community. In addition to the money raised, we hope that we have also raised the awareness of cancer prevention, early detection and treatment. The Relay For Life took place on April 8, 2006, from 12 Noon until 12 Midnight. Every dollar raised by the Relay will also supported the American Cancer Society as it leads the global fight against cancer, empowering more people each day to conquer the disease in their own lives.
