Fellowships and prizes
Dr. Wolfgang P. Mueller: won a Marie Curie Senior Research Fellowship from the European Commission and the Gerda-Henkel Stiftung in Düsseldorf, Germany. It offers funding for two years of study (2013 and 2014) at the Leopold Wenger Institut für Rechtsgeschichte, University of Munich, Germany.
Dr. Daniel Soyer: City of Promises: A History of the Jews of New York (Deborah Dash Moore, general editor, NYU Press 2012), the three-volume set of which volume 2, The Emerging Metropolis: New York Jews in the Age of Immigration, 1840-1920, Dr. Soyer co-wrote with Annie Polland, has won the Everett Family Foundation Award for Jewish Book of the Year from the Jewish Book Council. The Emerging Metropolis was a finalist for the JDC-Herbert Katzki Award for Writing Based on Archival Research, also from the Jewish Book Council.
Dr. Elizabeth Penry: named an International Cooperating Researcher of the National Museum of Ethnology, Osaka, Japan, (2012-2014) for a collaborative project titled “State, Community and Identity in the Modern Hispanic World: A Study of the Resettlement Policy in Spanish America.”
Dr. Rosemary Wakeman: named EURIAS Senior Fellow at the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities and Social Sciences in 2012-2013.
Dr. Richard Gyug: received a 2010-12 grant from the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada as co-investigator of Monumenta Liturgica Beneventana.
Dr. Thierry Rigogne: named Kluge Fellow at the John W. Kluge Center at the Library of Congress (September 2011-April 2012); Grolier Club Fellowship in the History of the Book, 2011-12.

Ryan Keating: appointed Assistant Professor of History at California State University San Bernardino
Brandon Gauthier: selected for the U.S. Department of State Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) program to study Korean at Chonbuk National University in Jeonju, South Korea for the summer of 2012.
Richard Hresko: awarded a fellowship from the Economic History Society to participate in its Researcher Development Initiative training at the University of Manchester (UK), Nov. 28- Dec. 1, 2012, where he will also present a paper on 'Iron and Steel for the Medieval English Arms and Armor Industry.'
2011-2012
Samantha Sagui: won the Institute of Historical Research’s 2012 Pollard Prize for her paper "The Hue and Cry in English Towns." The IHR is a member of the School of Advanced Study, part of the University of London. The prize includes fast-track publication in IHR’s journal, Historical Research. She also won the 2012 Shallek Award from the Medieval Academy of America, was awarded a 2011-12 Fordham Alumni Dissertation Fellowship, and also received an NACBS Dissertation Travel Grant for her dissertation, "Law, Order, and the Development of UrbanPolicing in Late Medieval England."
Nathan Melson: won the Birgit Baldwin Fellowship in Medieval French History from the Medieval Academy for 2012-2013; awarded a 2011-12 Bourse Jeanne Marandon Fellowship from the Société des Professeurs Français et Francophones d'Amérique for his dissertation, "Franciscan Identity and Saintly Economy in Late Medieval Marseille, 1248-1483".
Patrick Hege: received a 2011-12DAAD Dissertation Research Fellowship from the German Academic Exchange Service for his dissertation,"Colonizing the Metropole: Dar es Salaam, Race, & German Architecture".
Louie Dean Valencia García: awarded a 2011-12 grant from the Program for Cultural Cooperation Between Spain's Ministry of Culture & United States' Universities for his paper, "Truth, Justice and the American Way: Pluralism, Youth and Supermán in Franco's Spain".
