Fordham University The Jesuit University of New York

MIHA Faculty

The course modules are co-taught by Fordham faculty and IIHA Lecturers and will explore aspects of humanitarian assistance with breadth and depth. Fordham faculty provide the political, historical, sociological, anthropological, legal, ethical, psychosocial, and environmental (among others) context for students who are examining past, current and possible future complex emergencies.

The IIHA Lecturers, drawn from the UN, international NGOs, military, religious and other professional fields, lecture on the practical tools needed to forecast and respond to natural or man-made disasters. The MIHA students, who are also experienced practitioners, will contribute to the entire learning experience by sharing current information about situations “on-the ground”. In the form of lectures and case studies students will learn to evaluate past actions and plan strategies for future interventions.
