The Advanced Certificate in Financial Econometrics & Data Analysis


The Certificate in Financial Econometrics and Data Analysis is earned by having an appropriate background in finance and then by successfully completing ECGA 6910 Applied Econometrics (or ECGA 6950 Financial Econometrics) and CSGA 6950 Algorithms & Data Analysis with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (B) or better. ECGA 6910 Applied Econometrics will give you the analytical skills needed to see if statistically significant relationships exist in the data, while CSGA 6950 Algorithms & Data Analysis will give you the ability to manipulate large data sets. Both courses rely heavily on SAS programming methods. IPED students specializing in International Banking and Finance are deemed to have the appropriate background in finance needed to take this certificate.

IPED students who are specializing in International Banking and Finance may also fulfill the requirements for this Certificate as part of their 12 MA courses. ECGA 6910 Applied Econometrics is normally taken in the Fall of their first year of studies to satisfy their core requirement in quantitative methods, while CSGA 6950 Algorithms & Data Analysis may be taken in the Fall of their second year of studies as an elective toward their International Banking and Finance Specialization.
