"Voices from the Other Side: An Oral History of Terrorism Against Cuba"
 
LALSI invited noted linguist and philosopher Noam Chomsky and author Keith Bolender to challenge the United States’ approach to Cuba in a lecture and discussion which was held at the McNally auditorium at Fordham Law School.

A lecture by Bobby Sanabria where he discussed the controversial nature of the award show and its effects on the 'Diversity in America.'  Co-Sponsored with the Department of Sociology and Anthropology.

"Wrongful Convictions"

Jeffrey Deskovic, who was wrongfully convicted of rape and murder and later was exonerated by DNA testing, spoke about his experience in prison, coerced confession and his commitment to championing reform in the criminal justice system. Co-sponsored with the Department of Sociology and Anthropology and the School of Professional and Continuing Studies.

"Monseñor: The Last Journey of Oscar Romero"

LALSI sponsored the east coast premier of this powerful documentary about Archbishop Oscar Romero and the repression of the poor in El Salvador during the late 1970s.  Co-sponsored with the Council of Arts and Sciences Deans, the Theology Department, the Dorothy Day Center for Service and Justice, and the Campus Ministry.
