The Early Admission Master's Degree is a program specifically designed for Fordham College students. The program allows completion of both the Bachelor's (B.A.) and Master's (M.A.) degrees in five years.

Early Admission M.A. Degree Brochure for Fordham College Juniors (Updated 11.26.12)

Applications should be made in spring semester of your junior year. During your senior year, take two graduate courses, which count toward both the B.A. degree and the M.A. You can complete the M.A. in one additional year of full time study. This saves you time and money, and lets you pursue your interests in Latin American and Latino Studies in greater depth.

You do not have to be a Latin American and Latino Studies major or minor to apply. Requirements for application to the Early Admission Master’s Degree (open only to Fordham College students):
  • A B+ or better average (3.2 or higher)
  • Letters of recommendation from two Fordham University professors
  • A statement of interest explaining why you are interested in earning an M.A. in Latin American and Latino Studies (1-2 pages)
  • A sample of writing from one of your classes (5-7 pages)
  • A working knowledge of Spanish, French, or Portuguese
  • Application (on-line) from the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS)
A Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is not required for admission to the program, but is required if you plan to apply for financial aid during your fifth year.
