Many of our students find that in addition to being a rewarding experience in and of itself, study abroad especially complements their course of study as they are able to immerse themselves in the culture of their host country. In the past, LALS students have traveled extensively throughout Latin America, the Caribbean, and Spain.
Upon return, students are able to count some of their coursework abroad towards the requirements for the LALS major or minor. LALSI will allow up to four (4) courses taken during study abroad to count toward the major, and up to two (2) courses taken during study abroad to count toward the minor. If the student has already declared a LALS major or minor, these courses should be approved prior to going abroad.
