This is a copy of the Latin Histoire Ancienne jusqu'à César, a prose compilation of mytho-historical stories of antiquity, primarily focusing on the cycles surrounding Troy and Rome. The text is dated to around 1282-1283. Its one hundred forty-six folios are written in a Gothic hand in two columns, with numbering found in pencil in the upper-right corners. And index to the folios follows. The chapter titles are rubricated, and are accompanied by nine gold-paneled initials. Illustrated friezes are depicted at the bottom of each page, flanked by a rabbit and a dragon. The text contains eighty-four pen illustrations in color (many found in arches between the columns), and the work's binding is red leather, stamped with gold.
