Cynthia Vich specializes in modern Latin American literatures and cultures, with an emphasis on Peru. She is the author of the book Indigenismo de vanguardia en el Perú. Un estudio sobre el Boletín Titikaka (Fondo Editorial de la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, 2000), and of several articles on the works of twentieth-century Latin American authors. Her research and teaching interests include avant-garde culture, indigenismo, gender theory, women's studies, and most recently, migration and urban theory. Her courses draw from various disciplines and cultural practices such as history, anthropology, political discourse, film, photography, and literature.
