Javier Jiménez Belmonte's research and teaching focus on Medieval and Early Modern Spanish literature and culture, Renaissance and Baroque poetics, Spanish orientalisms and Cervantes. He is the author of Las Obras en Vero del Príncipe de Esquilache: Amateurismo y Conciencia Literaria (Tamesis, 2007). He has published on Medieval Spanish literature and culture (in La Corónica and Bulletin of Hispanic Studies), on Renaissance and Baroque Spanish poetry (in Calíope and Alfinge), on transatlantic studies (in Colonial Latin American Review) and on comparative literature (in Revista Hispánica Moderna). He is the Director of Fordham University's Cervantes Lecture series.
