MichaelLatour teaches all levels of French language including a literature course (FREN 2001), and does the coordination for the French Language Program. He has taught in several universities including Hofstra and Queens College. He is a Ph.D. candidate in French with a curricular option in Human Rights and International Affairs at the Graduate Center (CUNY). His research interests deal mostly with human rights issues in the Sub-Saharan African novels. In 2005 and 2006, Michael worked at the Ministry of Education and at the Université Nationale de Djibouti in East Africa. Upon his return, he edited several interviews for the United Nations and organized a conference to honor the life of the late Ahmadou Kourouma.
