and Conservation of Asian Horseshoe Crabs

Dr. Mark L. Botton, Professor of Biology and Dr. Mary G. Hamilton, Professor Emerita of Chemistry, recently presented their research at the International Workshop on the Science and Conservation of Asian Horseshoe Crabs in Hong Kong, China (http://www.cityu.edu.hk/bch/iwscahc2011/). The workshop participants included scientists, conservationists, and educators from Hong Kong, Taiwan, mainland China, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, India, and the U.S. Dr. Botton presented a Plenary Address, “Sea level rise and the significance of marginal beaches for horseshoe crab spawning.” They also presented posters based on two undergraduate research projects conducted by Mia Malin and Christopher Esposito, both Natural Science majors at FCLC.
