The Solon and Marianna Patterson Triennial Conference for the Theological and Historical Examination of the Orthodox/Catholic Dialogue
On June 28-30, 2010, we will host the first installment of the Patterson Triennial Conference for the Orthodox-Roman Catholic Dialogue. The title of the Conference is "Orthodox Constructions of the West." A Conference Rationale is available
here. Registration for the Conference will begin in February.

In June of 2007, the Orthodox Christian Studies Program hosted its first annual conference,
Orthodox Readings of Augustine, which examined the place of St Augustine in the Orthodox Church in the hope that the Latin doctor might be seen as a bridge between East and West rather than an obstacle. The proceedings from the conference, have been published by St. Vladimir’s seminary Press (Fall, 2008). For a list of contributors, click

Solon and Marianna Patterson of Atlanta, GA, who attended the inaugural conference, have generously provided $100,000 and issued a challenge grant for an additional $200,000 to endow the conference series permanently. The next conference is tentatively scheduled for June of 2010 and, like all conferences in the series, will explore an aspect of the Orthodox/Catholic dialogue.
