Vita

Education, accomplishments, and related professional information for this faculty member can be found in her vita.

Clinical Interests

My clinical interests include memory disorders, such as those seen in learning disabilities, dementia, and epilepsy, as well as disorders of awareness and emotional processing, as frequently seen in the afore-mentioned disorders as well as traumatic brain injury, stroke, and other populations. In my over 25 years of clinical experience, I have evaluated and treated numerous neurological and psychiatric disorders in children and adults..

Research Interests

My research interests cover a variety of areas in neuropsychology/biological bases of behavior. A current project is an evaluation of the relationship between indirect hormonal variables and cognitive and emotional/personality patterns, especially relational and physical aggression. Another area of interest is the neuropsychology of emotion and awareness. I have investigated this with studies of affective/neutral memory and implicit/explicit memory in normative samples and patients who underwent unilateral temporal lobectomy including removal of the amygdala and hippocampus. I have also done projects on cognitive and emotional sequelae of brain injury. Learning disabilities and gender differences are also general areas of interest.
