2005-06

• Congratulations to Victoria Newquist for winning the award for Best Undergraduate Presentation at the Eastern Sociological Society meetings for her work on "Terrorism in the Middle East"!

• The Department of Sociology and Anthropology would like to welcome Prof. Evan Cooper to FCLC!  Prof. Cooper is a visiting professor specializing in popular culture.

• Congratulations to Prof. Jessica Winegar on her book, Creative Reckonings:  The Politics of Art and Culture in Contemporary Egypt, forthcoming with Stanford University Press, 2006.

• Congratulations to Laura Backstrom, Pamela Smykal, and Victoria Newquist, who had their papers accepted for presentation at the 2006 Annual Meetings of the Eastern Sociological Society.

2004-05

• Congratulations to the Graduating Class of 2005!

• The Department of Sociology and Anthropology would like to welcome Prof. Jessica Winegar to FCLC!  Prof. Winegar received her Ph.D. in Anthropology from NYU, specializing in the Middle East.  In Fall 2005, she will be teaching Art and Society, and Culture and Cultural Change.

• The Department of Sociology and Anthropology will be offering several new courses in Fall 2005 - (ANLU 3373) Environment and Human Survival, and (SOLU 3043) Global Inequalities.

• The Department of Sociology and Anthropology would like to recognize the following students for their recent accomplishments:
