The Theatre program offers four pre-professional tracks for Theatre majors: Performance, Design & Production, Playwriting, and Directing. Entrance into all tracks is highly competitive and in addition to applying to the university, requires:
|
 |
PERFORMANCE TRACK: An audition
DESIGN & PRODUCTION TRACK: An interview and portfolio review
PLAYWRITING TRACK: An interview and a review of writing samples
DIRECTING TRACK: An interview and portfolio review (optional)
The program also offers a Theatre Minor which does not require an audition or interview.
Please follow the appropriate link for detailed admission information on your intended track.
Campus Visits 2009-2010
We strongly encourage you to schedule your campus visit on one of the dates below when the entire theatre faculty and our students will be present to familiarize you with all aspects of the Fordham Theatre Program. On each of these days, we will do a presentation on the theatre program as well as a Q & A with prospective students and parents. You will also be able to take a tour of the Lincoln Center Campus and all of the theatre facilities with a theatre major as your guide - someone who can continue an in-depth discussion of the program (you do not need to schedule this separately; it will be part of the day’s activities).
These dates are as follows:
- Saturday, October 17, 2009 (Open House for high school seniors)
- Friday, November 20, 2009 (Theatre Program Info Session - for high school juniors and any seniors who can't attend Open House)
NYC audition/interview days (see scheduling form or individual theatre track (performance, directing, playwriting, design & production) pages for regional audition/interview dates):
- Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010
- Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010
- Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010
Due to the large number of students visiting the campus, we are unable to accommodate requests for individual theatre meetings and theatre tours other than the days listed above. If you plan a campus visit on another day, you can, however, take a campus tour through the office of Undergraduate Admission. Please call 212-636-6710 to schedule. Please call this number also, to register for Open House. To register for the Theatre Info Session on Nov. 20, please email Dr. Patricia Peek at peek@fordham.edu and include the following information:
