How do I know if Fordham is right for me?

How can you know if Fordham is right for you? We encourage you to look at what Fordham's theology program offers and see if that might serve your needs:

  • A Jesuit education. Fordham combines a grounding in the Catholic tradition with an openness to other traditions--but there is much more to a Jesuit education than that:
  • Thinking critically. If you'd like to hone your use of critical reason, Fordham is an excellent place to have your mind sharpened. Our professors are respectful of differences, but whatever you believe, they want to help you think about it rigorously and critically.
  • Cura personalis, the care for the whole person. Fordham is interested in shaping minds, but only out of a concern for the whole person. This means, for instance, that our professors are accessible and will stop to talk with students in the halls.
  • New York City. Our campus is not just a patch of greenery and beautiful buildings in the Bronx. Fordham University reaches out into New York City, and when you come to Fordham you are not entering a secluded campus but a campus that extends to other universities, libraries, museums, cultural events, and communities from all over the world. It's not just that you'll enjoy the benefit of cross-registration with a number of other institutions. You'll enjoy the benefit of living in the city called the capital of the world.

You can't really know Fordham's strength until you meet the people here. But if what you see above interests you, please contact us! We'd love to hear from you.
