Matthew Baker is a 4th-year PhD candidate in the Systematic Theology program. His interests include Christian dogmatics, patristics, fundamental theology, epistemology, historiography, 19th-20th philosophical hermeneutics, and uses of patristic thought in 20th century theology (Orthodox, Roman Catholic, and Protestant), particularly in relationship to modern philosophical influences. His dissertation work focuses on theological hermeneutics in the thought of the eminent 20th century Orthodox philosopher, theologian, and historian Georges V. Florovsky. He has co-directed the Fr Georges Florovsky Orthodox Christian Theological Society at Princeton, for which he has organized several conferences, and is also assistant editor of Participatio: The Journal of the Thomas F. Torrance Theological Fellowship. His articles and book chapters have appeared in English, Greek, Russian and Serbian.
