"Master CLass" with Christian Topalov: "City Words: An Experiment and a Thesaurus"

On Monday, November 9th, Christian Topalov will be joining the "Issues in Urban Studies" MA graduate seminar to present his work. We are opening up the seminar as a "Master Class" for faculty and students who would be interested in Topalov's urban philosophy and his analysis of the evolution and meaning of the vocabulary we use everyday to describe the urban experience.

Christian Topalov is a sociologist and Professor at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris. He is the Director of Research for an ongoing multidisciplinary project on "City Words" that includes scholars from across globe as well as across disciplines. The result will be an extraordinary multivolume resource, an urban dictionary/thesaurus in three languages.
