If I am not a Fordham student, can I still register?
Yes, Fordham welcomes visiting students in its summer programs. Please fill out a registration form which can be printed from the Registration section of this website or found in our Bulletin, which you can request here. Be sure to read all of the information in our Policies and Procedures sections before sending in your registration form with your full payment. The last day for visiting students to register for Summer Session I is May 21 and for Summer Session II is June 24.

I am an international student.  Are there additional procedures for me to follow in order to register?
Since the summer course load (8-credit maximum per session) is not considered full-time, Fordham University cannot issue I-20 Student visas for summer study. In order to attend Fordham Summer Session as a visiting international student, you will need to show evidence that you hold a visa that allows you to take courses at American universities at the time of application. Please note that matriculation and evidence of good standing at an American university in an undergraduate degree program (i.e., not an ESL program) is also required for those who would like to stay in Fordham University housing.

How can I drop my class?
Fordham students should use OASIS to drop a course and are responsible for verifying their registration activities through OASIS. All students may request to be dropped from a course by coming to the Summer Session office or by submitting a written request via fax at 718-817-4670 or email at summerschool@fordham.edu. Please include your full name, Fordham student ID number, the course number, and the course name of the classes you would like to drop. The effective date for any course change is the date a drop/withdrawal occurs via OASIS or the date upon which the Summer Session Office receives a written form of notification of the course change request. Please note the deadlines for dropping a course in our Calendar.

Do I get a refund if I drop a course?
Only students who drop their course prior to the first class meeting are entitled to a full refund; students dropping after the first class may be entitled to a partial refund. Please see our Registration Policies and Procedures to calculate your eligibility and confirm with the Summer Session office.

How do I obtain a refund?
Students should request refunds in writing either through email (summerschool@fordham.edu) or fax (718-817-4670).  The dean will respond letting you know the refund you sould expect. Once the withdrawal has been processed, the student should contact the Registrar to verify method of refund. The Registrar is located in Thebaud Hall on the Rose Hill campus and can be reached at 718-817-3901. See Policies regarding refunds for more information.

When and where can I get the books for my class?
You can buy your books at the bookstore on the campus where you are taking your class.  The bookstore will have a list of the texts required for your class. Visit the bookstore website for more information.

Is there housing available?
Housing is available for students matriculated at an accredited U.S. college or university and registered for and attending a Fordham summer class. Please visit the Housing section for more information. Fordham students should visit the Office of Residential Life.

How do I get my grades?

You may also come in person to Thebaud Hall First floor at Rose Hill, Leon Lowenstein building 216A at Lincoln Center or fax your request to 718-817-2685.

How do I get my credits transferred over to my college/university?
We strongly recommend that you confirm with your academic advisor at your home institution that you will receive credit for a course taken outside of your college or university. Before granting permission, some schools require course descriptions or syllabi of the courses to be transferred, which you can obtain by contacting our office at 718-817-4665. To have your credits transfer, request that a transcript be sent to your school from Fordham University’s Office of Academic records. See above or Transcript Request for more information.

Do I need to send in my transcript along with my application?
A transcript is not needed to register for classes; however, in order to be eligible to live in the dormitories, you may send a transcript as proof of good standing.  Students may also be asked to provide evidence that they can do satisfactory course work before they are registered.
