Course Descriptions

Musical Theatre Workshop
Singing and acting musical theatre, combining vocal technique with acting work, song analysis and character study, exploring both traditional and contemporary musical theatre material.

Vocal Technique
Discovery and establishment of professional vocal techniques used on stage today. Correct breathing and support, coordinating vocal registration, understanding of voice acoustics and how to make the many different sounds required on Broadway today. All styles of musical theatre will be covered. Also vocal health and maintenance and balancing technique vs. temperament and character needs.

Theatre Games 
Acquire tools and practice techniques than can strengthen your acting instincts, imagination, and creativity.  Working from yourself,  explore how to approach a text, reduce the fear of performing, play, develop a sense of process to live in the moment and communicate truthful human expression.

Dance for Musical Theatre
A variety of Musical Theatre dance styles will be introduced.  Students will explore flexibility, collaboration and develop an ability to pick up combinations easily.  Attention to dancing from an actor’s personal style/character/story will be nurtured.
