HOW TO VISIT FORDHAM IN NEW YORK CITY

We want you to visit Fordham University, in the capital of the world.  New York City is full of action, energy and people and visiting may be easier than you think.  Here is what we recommend:

  • While there are near-daily tours and visit options throughout the year, the most comprehensuve visit events are our weekend open houses in October for seniors, in November for juniors, and in April for admitted students.  If you can only visit Fordham once, come for an open house.  For specific dates and more details, see our Open Houses page.
  • Fly into LaGuardia airport, as it is closest to Manhattan.  JFK and Newark are good alternatives and are the primary destination for international flights, but ground transportation options from these airports can be more costly.  Cab fares from LaGuardia are metered and cost around $35 to Midtown Manhattan.  For $2.50, you can also get from LaGuardia to Manhattan by taking the M60 bus.
  • If you are planning to visit the Lincoln Center Campus, we recommend staying in a hotel in the Lincoln Square or Clinton neighborhoods and walking to campus.  If you are driving in, here are some parking garages in the area.  Some garages offer discounts for Fordham visitors; please contact the garages for details.
  • If you are planning to visit Rose Hill in the Bronx, you may want to stay at a hotel in Midtown Manhattan and take a train from Grand Central Terminal to the Fordham Road station on the corner of our campus (the ride takes about 20 minutes).  You could also stay at a hotel in Westchester and drive to campus, where we have free parking facilities
  • Traveling by car to Rose Hill?  Be sure to follow our GPS and navigation information since Fordham's mailing address would bring you to a non-vehicular campus entrance.
  • To see both campuses, visitors – just like our current students  can easily take our Ram Van inter-campus shuttle service.  During your visit, ask for additional instructions and complimentary tickets at the admission office.  The Ram Van departs every half hour from each campus and the ride between campuses is approximately 30 minutes.
  • If you don't have a car and are heading to the airport directly after your visit, you can bring your luggage to us and we will watch it for you.  In Manhattan, you can hail a taxi to get you to the airport.  In the Bronx, you will need to arrange a car service
If you have questions about arranging any part of your visit, send an email to visitus@fordham.edu or call 1-800-FORDHAM and we will be able to provide you with some additional suggestions.  We are confident your visit to Fordham will be worthwhile.
