The university does not endorse any particular computer platform or vendor. If you do bring your own computer to campus, please review our recommended computer specifications.

Fordham University does not require students to bring computers to campus, although they may find it helpful. For students who do not currently own a computer, Fordham IT provides public computing facilities for your use and convenience. Public computer lab locations & hours can be found at: www.fordham.edu/computerlabs.

Ramcell is a cellular service operated by Fordham University and powered by Sprint PCS. This service is designed to meet the needs of today’s students by providing access to University services directly from the cellular handset. Students enrolled in the Ramcell program will have access to Blackboard, the University course management system. Blackboard Unplugged will allow students to login and review course information as well as any messages posted by the professor. Additionally, students may choose to have these message alerts pushed to their handset via text message as they are posted. Ramcell offers a wide variety of phones however we recommend the Treo 755P Smartphone by Palm. Among its many features, this device allows you to check Fordham email, open/edit word and Excel documents, play MP3s, Surf the web and check news & weather headlines.
