She has also been the recipient of fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Fulbright Commission. In 1995, she was the Ruth and Clarence Kennedy Visiting Professor of Renaissance studies at Smith College. As well as having published articles in various scholarly journals, she has recently been writing review essays of important Old Master exhibitions for Art in America, a magazine geared more toward contemporary art.
