Lana Boone, FCLC '09
Lana Boone is a 2009 alumna of Fordham College at Lincoln Center.
Lana Boone wants to live her life telling the stories of others.
"I chose Fordham for its fabulous media department, study abroad opportunities and New York City location," said Boone, who earned her bachelor's degree in communication and media studies at Fordham College at Lincoln Center, "all of which opened many doors of discovery for me."
Thanks to support from the UPS Foundation/LaFarge Endowed Fellowship Program, she took full advantage of her time at the University. In 2007, she was selected to become an International Public Policy Fellow. She spent her junior year studying in Egypt, where she witnessed social unrest in Cairo, an experience that reinforced her passion for journalism and foreign affairs. Back in New York for her senior year, she landed a series of high-profile internships-at the Clinton Global Initiative, Fox News and MTV Networks-and is planning on a career as an international correspondent.
"Without the help I received from scholarships and the generosity of people who believe in students like me, none of this would have been possible," she said. "Fordham and your generosity have given me experiences I could only dream about."
