Martin Comey, GSB '57
Martin Comey is a 1957 alumnus of Fordham's Gabelli School of Business.
Martin Comey, GSB ’57, celebrated his 50th Fordham Jubilee in June 2007, becoming a Golden Ram. In gratitude for the “great fundamental accounting education” he received at Fordham, the retired vice president and treasurer of Schering-Plough decided to make a lasting gift to his alma mater, one that will benefit undergraduate business students.
“For retirees like myself living on a fixed income, the only way to make a sizable gift is out of your corpus, not your pension money,” said Comey, who tranferred money directly from his IRA account to Fordham. “Utilizing the IRA provisions was a painless and tax-free method of doing this.”
