Artists Celebrate Black History Month

NEW YORK — A multimedia exhibit celebrating the work of three Washington, D.C., women artists and commemorating Black History Month will be on display Feb. 2 to 28 in the Entrance Gallery of the Lowenstein building, Lincoln Center campus, Fordham University. Sylvia Moore Jackson, Jeanne Jarvis and Edith C. Strange, all graduates of Howard University in Washington, D.C., have created a diverse collection of oils and watercolors. Their collages, portraits, landscapes and images of flowers "en-gage the viewer in lasting memory," says Vivienne Thaul Wechter, Ph.D., Fordham University artist in residence and curator of exhibitions and acquisitions.
