Eight to Receive Honorary Degrees at
2013 Fordham Commencement
As part of its 2013 commencement ceremony on May 18, Fordham University will award honorary degrees to eight people of distinction in fields ranging from public service and government to journalism and the arts.
This year’s commencement speaker, NBC News Chief Foreign Correspondent Richard Engel, will receive an honorary doctorate of humane letters at the University’s 168th commencement, to be held at the Rose Hill campus.

Students Mark Successful Year Earning
Prestigious Scholarships
Fordham students as of May 13 have earned 136 national and international academic, cultural, and service-oriented awards this scholarship season that include eight Fulbright awards and an NSF Fellowship. According to the Office of Prestigious Fellowships, more awards are likely to come.

Lasting Partnership with
Sandy’s Victims
Michael A. Martinez, FCRH ’13, a philosophy and psychology double major with a concentration in American Catholic studies,
was interning at the Office of Campus Ministry when Hurricane Sandy hit last October.
Almost immediately, he said, the office received a flood of inquiries from members of the Fordham community looking for ways to help.
