During the 2004-2005 academic year, more than 50 faculty members were awarded in excess of $21 million in grants and fellowships, including the highly competitive Guggenheim, National Endowment for the Humanities, National Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of Education and Fulbright awards, to further their research in a wide array of subjects, including species extinction, 17th-century English satire and medieval England. Additionally, more than 40 professors received Fordham faculty fellowships to pursue research in their respective fields.
“Winning prestigious faculty fellowships enhances the academic prestige and excellence associated with the University,” said John Hollwitz, Ph.D., vice president for academic affairs. “And the Fordham faculty fellowships reinforce the University’s deep commitment to developing and retaining our talented professors.”
Fordham salutes all of its distinguished faculty, who, through their own search for truths, enhance the classroom experience of wisdom and learning distinctive of a Fordham education.
