Fordham Breaks Into Top
Tier of Fulbright Producers
For the first time, Fordham has been named by the Chronicle of Higher Education as one of the nation’s top-ranked research universities earning the highest number of Fulbright awards for U.S. students.
Fordham was among a select 30 universities to earn double-digit Fulbright awards in 2008-2009. It tied Tufts University, the University of California at Davis and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with 10 awards each.

Ten Years Later, Ailey/Fordham
BFA Program Is Thriving
GDaniel Harder wanted a college education and a dance education, and didn’t want to choose between the two. He felt the pull of the classroom and the conservatory at the same time.
It’s a choice many young dancers struggle with, according to Jordan McHenry, who also wanted to delve into academics while intensively practicing his art.
Both students found what they needed in a degree program offered jointly by Fordham College at Lincoln Center and the nearby Ailey School, official school of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Every week the students take dance courses at Ailey and college courses at Fordham, gaining a liberal arts education that infuses their dance work with extra creativity.

Damp Weather, High Spirits, Mark Homecoming 2008
Sitting under the tent on Edwards Parade at Homecoming 2008, Philip Lynch (FCRH ’56) reminisced with friends about their days at Fordham.
“I played varsity squash for two years, won two varsity letters, got a nice jacket with a big block F on it… and never won a single match,” Lynch said with a laugh.
