University Jumps in Influential College Ratings
Fordham moved up from 67th to 61st place as a national university in U.S. News & World Report’s annual “America’s Best Colleges” issue.
This ranking places Fordham competitively among the nation’s 262 most prestigious universities and underscores a dramatic five-year climb from 84th place in 2002.

Fordham Opens New Campus in Westchester
Fordham University welcomed the 2008-2009 academic year by opening a new campus in Westchester County, N.Y.
Fordham Westchester is a three-story, 62,500-square-foot building set on 32 landscaped acres at 400 Westchester Ave. in bucolic West Harrison. It is home to the adult undergraduate program as well as the graduate schools of Social Service, Religion and Religious Education, Education, and Business Administration.

Fordham Students Find Environmental Inspiration Right in Their Backyard
For every student who ever complained, “It’s so nice today; why can’t we just have class outside?” Colin Cathcart has the answer: “Sustainable New York.”
The new summer course, which Cathcart taught to nine Fordham undergraduates in June, took place almost exclusively outside, with a particular focus on the Manhattan waterfront.

Here We Grow Again:
New Construction
Helps Strengthen
University’s Profile
Fordham’s construction projects are on the rise, so to speak.
The University undertook an ambitious roster of capital projects in 2008. The two largest are Campbell Hall, a 460-bed-dormitory named in honor of Robert Campbell (CBA ’55) and his wife, Joan, which is currently under construction, and a new 62,500 square-foot campus in Westchester County, N.Y., which opened in time for the fall semester.
