Ecumenical Patriarch Receives Honorary Doctorate in Visit to Fordham

Fordham University conferred an honorary degree upon His All Holiness Bartholomew, Archbishop of Constantinople, New Rome and Ecumenical Patriarch, on Oct. 27 at the Rose Hill campus in the Bronx.

University Makes List of Top Fulbright Producers

For the second consecutive year, Fordham University has been named by the Chronicle of Higher Education as one of the nation’s top-ranking research universities earning the highest number of Fulbright awards for U.S. students.

Fordham was ranked 18th among a select 30 research universities to earn double-digit Fulbright awards for the academic year 2009-2010. It tied with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with 13 awards each.

Alumna Gives Big Boost to Basketball

To celebrate her 20th anniversary as a Fordham graduate, Darlene Luccio Jordan (FCRH ’89) made a slam dunk with a generous gift to the basketball programs.

Jordan, a member of the Fordham University Board of Trustees’ athletics committee, made a $1.25 million gift to the men’s and women’s basketball programs. Her gift will be shared between scholarships and a three-year marketing effort that already has begun.
