David V. Budescu, Ph.D., A&S,
the Anne Anastasi Professor of Psychometrics and Quantitative Psychology, has published an article, “A Constrained Linear Estimator for Multiple Regression,” in Psychometrika magazine.

John Bugg, Ph.D., A&S,
associate professor of English, received an NEH Faculty Fellowship for research on “Five Long Winters: The Trials of British Romanticism.”

Edward Cahill, Ph.D., A&S,
associate professor of English, won an NEH Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Library Company of Philadelphia.

Jeanne Flavin, Ph.D., A&S,
associate professor of sociology, gave the presentation “Budgeting to Prevent Family Violence” on Dec. 8 at the Fourth International Policy Conference on the African Child (IPC) at the United Nations Conference Center in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

John D. Lawry, Ph.D., A&S,
professor emeritus of psychology, published the article “Searching for the Right Way to Begin Class” in the Nov/Dec issue of About Campus.

Tina Maschi, Ph.D., GSS,
assistant professor of social work, published “The Evolution of Forensic Social Work in the United States: Implications for the 21st Century Practice” in the Journal of Forensic Social Work.

Philip M. Napoli, Ph.D., BUS,
associate professor of communications and media management and director of the Donald McGannon Communication Research Center, was honored at Public School 257, the Performing Arts School, for his article “In Defense of Public School Teachers,” which appeared in the United Federation of Teachers Newspaper.

Alessandro Polcri, Ph.D., A&S,
assistant professor of Italian, published Luigi Pulci e la Chimera: Studi sull’allegoria nel Morgante (Società Editrice Fiorentina, 2010), which is part of the “Biblioteca di Letteratura” series.

Catharine Randall, Ph.D., A&S,
professor of French, has been selected to receive a book award from the National Huguenot Society.

Patrick J. Ryan, S.J., A&S,
the Laurence J. McGinley Professor of Religion and Society, published the article “Illuminating Manuscripts” in Commonweal (January 14, 2011). He is conducting interviews for “Jesuits in Conversation,” a series that introduces Jesuits working at Fordham to the larger University community and the public.

Harold Takooshian, Ph.D., A&S,
professor of psychology, authored the psychology-related entries in the Encyclopedia of New York City (Yale University Press, 2011). The entries are: “Psychology,” “Psychoanalysis,” “Anne Anastasi” and “Stanley Milgram.”
