Charles C. Camosy, Ph.D., A&S,
assistant professor of theology, presented a lecture at Regis College in Toronto, Canada for the Lupina Centre for Spirituality, Healthcare and Ethics called “The Duty to Ration Health Care from the Perspective of Catholic Social Teaching” on Jan. 17.

Heather Dubrow, Ph.D., A&S,
John T. Boyd, S.J., Chair in the Poetic Imagination, recently published her book of poems, Forms and Hollows (Cherry-Grove Press, 2011).

Elizabeth Frost, Ph.D., A&S,
associate professor of English, had her poem, Telling, featured by the Academy of American Poets as their Poem-A-Day for Feb. 4th. Frost’s new book of poems, All of Us, has been published by White Pine Press, 2011.

Luke Kachersky, Ph.D., BUS,
assistant professor of marketing, won the 2011 Academy of Marketing Science Outstanding Marketing Teacher Award. He will receive his award at the AMS Annual Conference in Florida this June.

Janet Kaplan, M.F.A., A&S,
poet in residence, has published a collection of poems, Dreamlife of a Philanthropist (Notre Dame, 2011). The collection of poems won the Ernest Sandeen Prize in Poetry, sponsored by the creative writing program at Notre Dame.

Dawn B. Lerman, Ph.D., BUS,
director of the Center for Positive Marketing, marketing area chair, and associate professor of marketing, delivered a presentation in January at the CFO Alliance Breakfast Roundtable titled, “The Power of Positive Marketing and its Impact on the Bottom Line.”

Joseph M. McShane, S.J., ADM,
president of Fordham University, was a respondent to Sister Amata Miller’s talk at a plenary session of the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities (ACCU) in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 30.

Molly Ness, Ph.D., GSE,
assistant professor of childhood education, recently published “Would You Like Fries With That? The Dangers of Customer Service in Reading Teacher Education” in Critical Inquiries in Language Studies; “K-5 Teachers’ Use of and Attitudes Toward Informational Text” in Reading Psychology; “The Growth of Teacher Educators for Social Justice: Collaborative Professional Development in Higher Education,” in InSight: A Journal of Scholarly Teaching; and “Examining One Class of Third-grade Spellers: Analyzing Students’ Spelling to Plan for Word Study Instruction” in Reading Horizons.

Aida A. Nevárez-La Torre, Ed.D., GSE,
associate professor of education, director of multilingual education and coordinator of TESOL/bilingual programs, was elected chair of the Bilingual Education Interest Section of the Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) International Professional Organization. The conference will be held in New Orleans this March.
