AOL Time Warner Exec. Named to Board
Patricia Fili-Krushel (GBA ’82), AOL Time Warner’s executive vice president of administration and a former president of ABC Television Network, was elected to Fordham University’s Board of Trustees during the quarterly meeting held in December.
Prior to joining AOL Time Warner in July 2001, Fili-Krushel was CEO of WebMD Health since April 2000, where she oversaw WebMD’s consumer portal. From July 1998 until April 2000, she was president of the ABC Television Network, overseeing all of the programming and business areas. As network president, she conceived and orchestrated SoapNET, a 24-hour soap opera cable network. During Fili-Krushel’s tenure the network made the leap from third to first in the ratings race.
As president of ABC Daytime from 1993 until 1998, Fili-Krushel introduced Barbara Walters’ hit ensemble talk show The View and helped the network’s daytime programming schedule become the most watched among women ages18-49. Prior to her tenure at ABC, Fili-Krushel occupied management positions at both Lifetime Television and Home Box Office.
In addition to her Fordham M.B.A., Fili-Krushel holds a B.A. from Saint John’s University. Throughout her career, she has garnered many awards and accolades, including being named one of Fortune’s “50 Most Powerful Women” in 1998. Among her many memberships and affiliations, Fili-Krushel sits on the board of Oxygen Media, Inc., and was named to New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Commission on Women’s Issues, where she serves as co-chair of the child-care initiative.
