University Chaplain Expands Role

Father Blaszczak will focus his energy toward
encouraging faith-based and inter-religious dialogue.

Gerald Blaszczak, S.J., Fordham University’s vice president for mission and ministries

University Chaplain Gerald Blaszczak, S.J., will serve as Fordham University’s vice president for mission and ministries. In this newly created position, Father Blaszczak will oversee Global Outreach, the University’s international service program; the Office of Alumni Chaplaincy; and the Center of Religion and Culture.

“In light of the remarkable service that he has already rendered to the University family since he first assumed the post of University Chaplain in 1998,” said Joseph M. McShane, S.J., president of Fordham University, “I am confident that he will put his considerable talents to good use and make Fordham a place where the dialogue between faith and reason is lively, warm, rewarding and mutually enriching.”

Father Blaszczak will continue to oversee the Office of Campus Ministry and to foster inter-religious dialogue on campus, as well as to respond to the diverse religious needs of Fordham students.
